Introducing Lindsay Lockhart, Student Blogger

My name is Lindsay Lockhart and I am originally from just outside of San Francisco, California. After graduating from the University of Southern California, I moved to South Africa where I worked for a refugee advocacy organization in Cape Town. From there I completed two and a half years of service with the U.S. Peace Corps in Morocco. Upon returning to the California I worked for an agriculture-based start-up—The Climate Corporation—in the Bay Area, which used climate models as an input for agricultural yield models. Now at SAIS I am concentrating in Energy, Resources and the Environment and have focused my studies on agricultural policy, food systems, and food security issues. After graduation, I hope to work for a high impact development firm whose goal it is to fix the global issue of food distribution inequality. My hobbies, when I have time, include hiking, kayaking, cycling, Crossfit, and travel!
