Welcome to SAIS!

This week has been a BIG week at the Washington, DC SAIS Campus.  Our newest students came together as a group for the first time yesterday (Thurs, Aug 27) for New Student Orientation, where they were introduced to all sorts of topics pertaining to the student experience at SAIS.

Today, all our new students, clad in bright blue SAIS t-shirts--along with second-year MAs coming from SAIS Europe and the Hopkins-Nanjing Center--were invited to participate in a day of service.  Students worked on a wide variety of projects, including (but not limited to!): gardening at the National Arboretum Youth Garden, career coaching at the Ethiopian Community Center, maintenance and upkeep at the Salvation Army, preparing food deliveries for a local food bank, and clearing seaweed from the DC tidal basin.

We're also saying "Welcome Back!" to many of our second-year MA students, who will all be here to start classes on Monday.  But some of our second-year students MA students came back a little early to participate in the SAISLeads retreat, which is designed to help students identify their personal leadership style and develop those skills.
