Saying Goodbye

Two weeks ago, many SAISers had a pretty big day.  Maybe the biggest day of their academic lives?

I’m talking, of course, about Commencement!  It’s a great, joyous day, with lots of smiles and pictures.  It’s always exciting to see our students celebrate this achievement, and moving forward to take the next step in their lives.  Look how happy they are!
But it’s also a little bittersweet.  In the admissions office, we’ve watched our students go through the entire process.  We meet them sometimes before they even apply, guide them through the application process, and help them make their decision about where to attend.  And then we have the opportunity to watch them grow academically and professionally during their time at SAIS; some students work in the admissions office, others participate by interviewing applicants, and still others volunteer for recruiting events.  Even if a student doesn’t get involved with admissions, we still know their names and see their faces everyday, and it’s a little sad to see them go.
But, oh! the places they go, and the things they do after they leave our hallowed halls always amazes.  And sometimes, when we’re lucky, they occasionally come back as alums and help recruit!
You can see the full video, and more pics of commencement online here.
Thanks for reading!
