This is a big week at SAIS! What I’m talking about and really excited for is the International Dinner, which will be later this week. An annual event, the International Dinner brings out nearly every single student, many of whom celebrate the international diversity of SAIS by dressing in clothing from around the world.  Both regional and cultural student clubs provide a wide variety of foods for the SAIS community, as well as a cultural talent showcase, featuring dance, music, and other performing arts from around the world.
As a contribution to the international dinner, one student is making a video of various students dancing to the South Korean recent phenomenon “Gangnam Style,” including current SAISers Priya, Akshat, and Sumeet, pictured above.  I also happened to catch a little of their dance on video: click here to watch on YouTube.
I can’t wait to see the complete video at the International Dinner!  Hopefully, I’ll be able to get a copy of the video and post it here so you all can see it.
And, of course, there was a little thing called the US Presidential election on yesterday, which (considering how interested our students are in this sort of thing) was a pretty big deal.  It’s SAIS tradition that on presidential election years, the Student Government Association (SGA) hosts a big election night party, and almost everybody comes out to watch the election coverage discuss the election as it’s happening.  You can see some photos on the SAIS Facebook page, and some of our student bloggers will be writing about it this week.
Thanks for reading!
